  Brilliant, absolutely brilliant. Finally getting hearing aids after years of been hard of hearing. Claire, Nicola and Awais are fantastic. The rooms are spotlessly clean and you feel you are being listened to and looked after. Tried hearing aids for the first time today and I was amazed. Looking forward to finally getting them in two weeks. The hearing tests are thorough. Can't thank them enough. Update to my original post only had my hearing aids a few hours and some of my tinnitus has gone in my left ear after months of hearing humming. I now only hear a high pitched sine wave. Well impressed.

  Had my hearing aids since July 21 always an amazing service,today I broke one of my aids seen and repaired in same day definitely recommend fantastic service

  Boots Halifax now has a Hearing Care service! It’s located with the Optician service and shares the reception desk there, so you can book in store, online or over the phone. I am slightly biased as I work for Boots, but this new hearing care provision is a great addition to the town’s services, which are lacking in choice. The existing private hearing aid company in Halifax also does NHS aids and it can be difficult to get private appointments when they are busy with NHS fittings. Free 15 minute hearing checks are available Mon-Fri at a time to suit you. These checks are designed to look at the health of your ears, identify any complaints that need a medical referral, and test for the signs of age-related hearing loss. You are very welcome to have a hearing health check to confirm or deny the hearing loss that is such a common complaint for over 55s - without waiting months for the local NHS service. A full test is available for those who have a hearing loss identified by the above hearing check, or a known loss previously tested by the NHS or other supplier. This is also free and is exactly the same test as you would have at the hospital, performed by a trained clinician with the same qualifications as the NHS aud. The full hearing assessment will also take in details of your lifestyle and hearing requirements to identify what help is needed or appropriate for you. Our friendly team will be delighted to help you whatever stage of the hearing journey you are at, be it a curiosity or concern (perhaps you’re not hearing the TV clearly), or needing advice on what technology is available to improve on your existing hearing aids. Halifax has been in need of more choice of hearing care suppliers for many years, and Boots are a trusted brand who are dedicated to making sure no one has to live with an untreated hearing loss. The current audiologist offers a friendly and convenient service and she specialises in tinnitus and reluctant patients :-). Being hard of hearing herself, she has a lot of experience and understanding when it comes to hearing, balance, hearing aids, assistive listening devices (e.g. phones that connect directly to hearing aids) and local or national services for deaf or hard of hearing people. Boots’ hearing aid range are very competitively priced, and there is something to suit everyone, but even if the customer ultimately requires NHS provision, a 15 minute Hearing Health Check is a great way to look after your hearing and get some fast, free advice and support. Top tip: as your friendly Audiologist for some Advantage Card points at your free Check, and don’t forget to bring your card with you!
